New in a box? Don't you mean NOS? New Old Stock, sitting untouched on some shelf in some dusty guitar shop or something like that...

Yeah its a good deal, see if you can talk them down to $50 even including shipping.

You may want to 'recharge' the electro caps if its been unused

Right you are, new old stock, sorry the lingo is a bit new to me.

"Recharge the electro caps?" Huh? Do I need a PhD for that? What's involved?

TM:

10 years ago these were the most common cheapest pedal you could find, often in the $10-25 range. they are a bit more nowadays, but i woudln't recommend spending more than $40 unless you really want it :)

i guess if it's got the box and manual that would up the value a bit.

I am not sure what they mean by "recharge", but over time electrolytic capacitors can degrade a bit, and a common thing to do is to change on the electrolytic capacitors on older devices.

There was another thread about if electro caps degrade when sitting unused for years. Wasn't meant to freak you out.

EH-2 is one of my most used pedals, it does something very nice to the tone, both clean and distorted. I like it a lot and have two, just in case
Even if you can get it cheaper than $50 I think you should buy it.
My opinion is that EH-2 will become a collectors item sooner or later.
