Hello guys.
I'm thinking about getting an OC-2 for my guitar setup. Now, being the reading kinda guy that I am, I know there are some made in Japan and some made in Taiwan. The Japanese ones are supposedly better according to most people on this forum and others around the web. This goes for any BOSS pedal in general.
Does anyone know for a fact that the Taiwanese OC-2 models contain different parts than the Japanese same? And if not, do you really believe they sound different? This last question goes for any BOSS pedal.
Thanks. |

hey Iverson. this is the BIG topic around here and always ends in a stalemate. i usually say that MIT and MIJ gets blown out of proportion and they usually dont differ as much as the hype says. but in the case where they do differ noticeably, whos to say that one is necessarily better than the other... as for the MIJ and MIT OC-2, i find they both sound similar, but this pedal especially is hard to tell since its such a "background" effect, ive heard people say that the tracking on MIJ is worse and vice versa, but you really have to watch how you set them up. i like to put mine usually first in the chain, and some even recommend putting a Compression in front of it to keep the input nice and level. but overall i think positioning in the chain and also other pedals you use with the OC-2 have more of an overall effect on your sound than country of origin. |
