No. The TU-2 definately DOES have controls. The pedal and its functions cannot be used without them. In any case, they are every bit as necessary as the DC-2's buttons.

Your on the right track sp-1, if we take it further:
DD-3 OPW the same internals as its predecessor but then later had 2 radically different circuit revisions; then DSD-3 only pedal with the same internals its predecessor
