Hey, I'm getting an RCL-10 (the compressor/noise gate) mirco rack boss made. I want to make sure I know how it works with a footswitch though. Does anyone have experience with these and using them with a footswitch? I'm hoping I can hook up a remote pedal with 2 latching switches on it (since the rcl-10 has 2 switches on it) and operate them seperately. Thanks in advance!

What's the second footswitch for? I know one is for bypass... I used to own one, but I just can't remember

I have several microracks, but never used them with a switch. From memory, there's bypass, but I dont recall there being 2 switch inputs... some units do have in/out for the modulation, so you can sync the sweep rate of your phaser to the LFO on your delay, that kind of thing. I like the microracks. Good little units.

First of all, congrats on the RCL-10, it's a great compressor. I use one rackmounted in the loop of my bass amp. It also has a really terrific noisegate.

All microracks can be bypassed with a normal latching footswitch.
But the RCL-10 only has one thing that can be footswitched (bypass/on), not two.
I assume with 2 switches you mean the switches on the front panel? The left one is for bypass/on and the right one for power.

Ooooooooooooooooooooh ic! That makes sense. I was thinking the two switches on the front were for the compression and then the noise gate...luckily I'm planning on leaving the compressor on the whole time (for my guitar rig) cuz I need the noise gate on the whole time too. Thanks for the help!

One more question...I have 1 control pedal with 2 buttons on it (like this one: http://img3.musiciansfriend.com/dbase/pics/products/4/5/6/267456.jpg) will it work to control the rcl-10? (I haven't bought the rcl-10...I buying it tomorrow!)

Does it have 1 TRS or 2 TS (mono) cables coming out of the switch enclosure?

just one output on it...another question. There is a white knob version and a colored knob version...is there any other difference besides the color of the knobs or what? The one I'm getting has white knobs...

That link in my previous post is the exact switch i have (from a crate amp). You just plug an instrument cable into it and then it goes to a crate gfx 30 amp...but I only use the gfx30 for practice now so i'd like to use the footswitch as a remote switch (it doesn't work as a remote switch for my dd7 cuz it latches).

The colored knob version is just older, cause I have an RDD-10 microrack delay with colored knobs from '85 and my white knob RCL-10 is from '90.

That footswitch will probably work just fine, only the 2nd switch just won't do anything since it's shorted on the sleeve part of the jack. Just as long as it is a latching switch.

Alright sweet! Now I know that you can power other pedals off of the rcl-10, but what kind of power supply does the rcl-10 take? Can I daisy chain it w/ my BCB-60 and/or does it take the regular PSA-120 from Boss or what? The one I'm getting comes with "a power supply" but I don't know what kind. It'd be ideal if I could chain it with my pedal board.

Well I just won it on Ebay for 70 bucks (80 w/ shipping). Best price I've seen online (or anywhere for that matter...). I have no clue what they went for brand new back in the day...? Anyone care to share? I can't wait til it comes!!!

I'm planning on posting some pics of my pedalboard on that thread in the "boss compacts" forum soon...I finally got a chance to take some pics and I'm getting closer and closer to a setup I'm happy with...this rcl-10 will be one of the finishing touches.
