Hi,
I have a couple of really old ones- a low numbered ss DS-1 in particular, that have dry aged paint. Kinda feels like it will start chipping off.
The DS-1 has a chalky dry feel to it and I'd like any advice people have about protecting it.
I want to seal it in some way but not affect the paint in the process. I've thought of auto wax, maybe just rubbing it down with good quality light oil such as Singer oil???
Just want to be sure I'm not going to do anything that will react with the paint!

IMO,

Let it chip. The old pedals with character look so much better. I much prefer old to new.

easy.

just bury it in the backyard for about six weeks, making sure the dirt comes in contact with the paint. Water it every three days and when you dig it up the paint will be indestructable.
this works for me.

Say what? Is that how you get the Brown tone everyone digs?

Oh, I'm the same when they're just tools...

But when you're paying multibux for SS versions my thinking toward them changes.
Hell, my first car only cost $300...
