| It seems Boss are Behringer's latest target to rip off. At NAMM they released a load of new pedals which bear striking resemblances to Boss pedals from days gone by http://www.behringer.com/FD300/index.cfm?lang=ENGhttp://www.behringer.com/HF300/index.cfm?lang=ENG *cough DF-2 HF-2 cough* They've also released a Deluxe Memory Man clone. Looking at it, they've pretty much copied every rare boss pedal - the Slow Gear, the HM-2, the PN-2, the VB-2, the DC-2, I'm excited yet bewildered at the same time? I never saw myself saying this about Behringer, but I WANT THEM ALL! |

If it's anywhere as good as the boss BCB-60 and fits 12 pedals that could be a very handy thing to have!!! Just have to wait and see...  |

| It's shameless how they've copied the features. You'd expect that they could come up with something of their own but every switch is identical to the Boss counterparts. |

i can't belive how close to they are to original boss units. rolandboss must have agreed some sort of licence for this.
the pedal board looks cool. like a double decker bcb 60!!!
i must admit i'd be tempted to try a few at those prices, SP1 spectrum anyone??????? |

I'm a bit worried that Boss will start cutting costs to compete with these knock-offs.
It would be tragic if Boss started using plastic cases. |

This was for the Vintage Time Machine but they all have the same * disclaimer at the bottom...
So it doesn't look like they've had ANY involvement with any other manufacturer. I just wonder how they can do this without setting themselves up for a lawsuit?
Even the font style for the pedalboard looks just like Roland/BOSS (i.e. PB-1000) |

there's a chance they may still not make the production line if boss,electro harmonix or mxr/dunlop decide to take this further.
still don't think they will become collecables like the originals.
but who knows???? |

It's shameless yes, but on the other hand all the above pedals have been discontinued, and so far Boss has ignored all calls to reissue them, and I think are even on the record stating they will never do compact pedal reissues? The DMM clone is entirely different though... |

One would hope not. To me, the robust case is a major plus for Boss pedals.
A friend gave me one of the Behringer phasers to see if they were any good. One thing I did find annoying was the power connector being on the side, just behind the output. I like to have my pedals fairly close together in the chain - with the Behringer it's not that easy unless you use 90deg plugs and it still looks messy. I assume they're all like that.
Just my 2c worth. |

I've tried a few Behringer pedals and for the money that sound great. Compared with Boss pedals they sound nowhere as nice but then for the price ... 
They are pretty flimsy and if you stepped on it too hard you would probably break the switch and case! Also once you take the back place off there is absolutely no weight to them. Just a piece of steal backing to give it some weight and a sense you are buying something decent!

| Doesn't surprise me. Not the first time (nor the last) Behringer has made rip-offs of Boss effects, and from what I understand, most of the previous line of Boss clones sound nowhere near the pedals they are supposed to sound like. I wonder what these will sound like... |

I remeber a long time ago when they first released a load of Stompboxes and they looked near identical to the boss Pedals.
They didn't have the slightly rounded look they have now, and the Metal ZOne copy was called Metal Tone.!
I suppose there is nothing other companies can do unless they buy the rights to the chips....
I would be very tempted by the analog delay, Spectrum, Slow Gear and Limiter.
If the Pedal board takes Boss Pedals, I'm getting one!

There's also a brand called PSK effects making close copies of Boss pedals.
