Just been to my trusty (and trusted) local music store.
All new Boss pedals went up somewhere between 20% and 30% yesterday. Gag.

They increased the price on existing stock, or new stock? Sounds like the gas prices, set to what they forecast it might be... |

Same here in UK, simply crazy.
I have just managed to get a blues driver for 50 new. Now they go for $69-85
I am still looking for a TR-2 from retailers that haven't changed their prices yet. |

With the downturn in world economics, it just doesn't make sense.

yeah, the TU-2 is an exorbitant $160. The PS-5 is nearing $230+.
As Zerksies said, Fender went up too. Gibson seems to be somewhat stable, but their newest guitars (the 08 model year) have higher retails than their prior models. LP Studio is around $1400 right now, where they were $1100 in the last year or two.
BOOO! Makes working retail suck. Makes used stuff way more appealing. |

I'm assuming you mean CAD? Cause I just checked GC.com and the TU-2 is still at $99 (USD).
Even though I already own one (got it fairly cheap off a guy on eBay several years back, good deal) I was about to be pretty shocked if it jumped 60% |

Nowadays I don't even consider buying new when I can find slightly(emphasis on slightly) used pedals on ebay and other online sites. I know you take a chance that way, but for now I feel the risk is minimal.
That and it's not exactly like Boss is gonna do a new compact analog delay anytime soon, so....... |

| Yeah, $160 is CAD. It's pretty awful - it was $120 for the longest time. |

+1..... very silly ..not to go too much off topic but as some of you may know we share a border with N.Ireland at the moment were looking for a new van for the band..i can get 04 Ford Transit up there for the same price as a 02 around Dublin...for the sake of an hours drive.. and the dealer/private sellers down here in my neck of the woods won't even haggle... and with auto sales down 66.5% in january alone and a projected 55,000 people set to lose their jobs in the auto industry in ireland this year..... madness... ..... |
