Lexicon and Alesis used to rule the boards.
The RV-2 is a handy stage fix for widening a JCM 800 |

I've heard reliable folk say that TC's cheap units are better than Lexicon's cheap units. Lex are my faves for good quality rack units, but I've never tried TC personally. |

I have good news for all of you who do not like the RV-3.
It seems that you need to set the controls at a minimum level.
I tried to get plate reverb from the RV-3 to sound like the plate of the RV-2. If you set set the controls of the RV-3 similar as your setting on the RV-2 you get an over-the-top reverb sound. Bring all controls down to hardly being open at all and you will get a fairly similar sound as the RV-2.
I really like this discovery since the RV-3 only takes about 70 mA from your powersupply, also there is the added delays, which may come in sometimes useful.
The RV-5 I find very clinical, rather prever the RV-2 and RV-3.
Have used the RV-2 for a long long time, feeling very similar as most of you about the RV-3, but since this discovery I use the RV-3 more. Just another one of those moments when you think you know your pedals, but then think twice and play again. |

Yep I am sure you will get good sounds like the RV-2 from that pedal. Just may take a bit of patience really. Have fun and enjoy!! |

The FDR-1 has nice verb on it.. I find the 5 too tinny and harsh. I really don't like most digital reverbs. I don't think I've heard an RV-2, and I still need it for my collection.
My favourite pedal for verb is the Holy Grail or one of its variants. Better than that is a tube-driven long-spring tank. Anyone know of a simple way to make one of those standalone reverb units (maybe even out of an old amp?).. |

| I love the reverb on my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 410 but I use the RV-5 and Verbzilla for reverb "effects". I own an RV-3 and Holy Grail but not that big of a fan for them anymore |
