Recently I change IC on my faulty MIT 1994 DS-1. I changed the original IC Rohm BA728N (SIP8) to NJM2904 (DIP8) using SIP8 to DIP8 that i make my self.
The problem is tone knob become level and level knob become tone. LED always light even in off position (dim).
Sorry for my english. Thanks

Hi tambey

Welcome to the forum from Australia.

Perhaps there is an error in your SIP-DIP adapter?
Have you double checked it against
the Data sheets for the BA728N verses the NJM2904?

Do you have the datasheets for both IC's?

Or perhaps, you have a small short or solder splash on the PCB.
Perhaps you can post some pictures.

Good luck

Regards Dr. Bob

Thank you Dr Bob. I'm from southern Malaysia. I'm newbies in electronics. Since lots of electronics component manufacter have their factory here, so most of the components are very cheap. I wanna try before order some online. But I just can't find SIP8 opamp chip. Local shop here are not supportive for guitar diy or efx diy.
I tried every opamp chip I've got but still the same result.
I'll try post some pic or maybe videos next time.

Thank you so much. Glad to be a part of family.
