Here you go!
The "marks" on the body are just dust and photo artifacts. It is unblemished... mint fresh

Hi Laurie
A 60th anniversary strat. ----NICE----
I was seriously looking to buy one of these & the 60th Tele as a set, just a while ago. Congrats.
How does it play & sound? - Bloody great I bet.

Well, that was short lived. It turned out that the bridge pins had been drilled in the wrong place and the strings were not "square" on the neck. The pic shows the difference in gaps for the big-E vs small-E... There is a little bit of "perspective" in picture making it look worse than it was, but the big-E was sliding off the frets to the side of the neck above about fret 18. Even worse, you couldn't restring the guitar without taking off the trem cover because the holes in the bridge-block didn't line up with the holes in the trem cover (this is what made me aware of the problem...). How the first owner didn't see this is beyond me.
Although this is clearly a manufacturing defect (the bridge pin holes have been drilled about 5/23" away from where they should be), Fender won't touch it because the warranty isn't transferrable from the original owner. SHAME on you Fender! You should stand behind your product!
Fortunately, the store does hassle-free returns within 30 days so all is well. I just don't have my strat anymore. I'd grown quite attached to it during the 14 hours I owned it

Crap dude that's a somewhat easy fix. Where as you guys can mod pedals I can actually do some guitar work you would need to pull the trem posts out fill in the holes and re drill any luthier worth his salt could fix that. Maybe you go back and ask for a discount equal to the repair cost |

The guitar is a beauty so it's a shame about the defect. Did you get your money back or will you buy another guitar from the same store? |

Already did that No go.
Also seriously considered doing the drill/fill approach myself but honestly, I'd rather wait for a "good" one. |

They have a 30 day no-questions-asked return policy, so I got a refund. I'll eventually get one from this particular store - I have a bunch of mates who work there.
The thing that pisses me off the most is Fender walking away from what is clearly a manufacturing defect. |

Yeah don't think I'd want to be drilling holes in a new (or nearly new) guitar either; cool you can get your money back though.
If that sort of thing slips through the quality control then i wonder how many others there are that look like that......
