These look quite practical. I had a friend, Vince, who sadly is no longer with us. He bought a brand new 1972 Gibson SG in walnut, custom order left hand. These SG's had a very thin neck with a volute on the headstock. Poor Vince had only owned it two weeks when some one tripped over the cord and down off the stand it went, breaking the headstock right off. He had it repaired and it lasted him until he died a couple of years ago. That old SG would be worth a pretty penny if he had those magnet things. I am going to watch for these in the music store, so I can see them for real.

Saw a review in Sound On Sound - thinking of getting these with some spare jacks to leave in he guitars and then just swap the cable for live use.

I've had the same problem with my yamaha SG 2000S except i didn't snap the neck but it did break the top of the toggle switch a couple of times and put a few zings and dints in her.... why yamaha didn't put the input socket the same as a Les Paul i don't know........probably the only thing i don't like about that guitar.....

Thats a cool idea, but I would worry about somehow accidentally disengaging it while playing.

Maybe for practice around the home but not recording or gigs, eh?

I know a guy who's endorsed by SnapJack. nice stuff! I think if you pull hard enough to disengage it, it would be hard enough to pull a regular plug out, or down (bending jack, breaking gear, tripping).
