I was going to bid on it, but $248 + $35 S&H is at least $100 more than I'd be willing to pay....

Jesus, they're pieces of shit anyway, the switch is pretty much made of spit and kleenex and they sound like a poor man's Blue Box, except for about four times the price.

I remember testing one out back when they first came out, and it mainly sounded like someone put a knife through your speakers, and that was during its few brief moments of decent sound cause mainly it was just the "Broke" box, "Use this if you want people to think you blew up your amp and/or speakers". They could have spent that money on something more useful or a good book or something....

I agree with you about the switch, tomwest... I've had to repair the switch on three of my DOD pedals (I only kept one of them, and I still might get rid of it too).

my interest in the Buzz Box is partly an enthusiasm for oddball dirt boxes in general, and part morbid curiosity, like the way people rubberneck when driving past an accident. the Buzz Box was supposedly designed as Blue Box clone but driven by a Grunge pedal. I already have that combo of pedals, and it indeed sounds batsh!t insane ... just not quite as gone as Buzz Osbourne's guitar sound (maybe I should soak those pedals in a haze of pot smoke for a few years?).

and you gotta like DOD's cajones back then, to launch a product whose marketing slogan was, "it's not broken, it's SUPPOSED to sound like that."

Haha, yeah I think it'd be a cool pedal to have, but not for the prices they fetch.
