OK, so I picked up a GEB-7 years ago with the intent of using it with my bass. Never did. I have just dug it up again and I'm wondering if anyone knows what the component level differences are between the GEB-7 and the GE-7? Thinking I might convert it if it's just a few capacitors.
I have the schematic for the GE-7, but cant find one for the GEB-7 (or I wouldn't have to ask this question!).
Thanks, and regards, Laurie.

The GEB7 is identical to the GE7, the difference being the values in the gyrator circuits which are controlling the frequency for each band. For example, VR1 in the schems shows a frequency of 100hz. On the GEB7 it is 50hz. This is changed by changing the parts C10 and C13. For VR2 it would be C9 and C8, and so on for each frequency and slider. You'll need some tant caps also. Is your a MIJ or MIT? the schems mostly online are for the MIJ. But you get the idea how it works, and the layout. heres a calculator for each band, look under 'electronic circuits-->geq calc' http://www.geocities.jp/dgb_studio/index_e.htm
tons of g'tar wiring too

Yeeeessss.... I have just tried it and it seems fine. Just suffering from the usual noise problems these things are prone to. Interesting, eh?

I use mine before my NS-2, not in the loop of the NS-2. I often wonder why the list price is higher for the GE-7, it can't cost any more to make than the GEB-7 because it's just different values of the same components. Besides, there are more guitar players than bass players so sales volume pricing doesn't apply. |

Guessing it costs more because they need to get special stock for the GE7 since its the only type of pedal to have sliders. If it were knobs and pots, it might be cheaper. Oh and be huge with 8 knobs
Has anyone tried different values, like 100->125, or 400->350? |
