Hi, this is my first post on here, so please be gentle haha.

I first heard about the competition on this forum so it was probably best I let you guys know that I've won on there too!

Mine is the september winner with the teeth (I honestly didn't think it would win, but what do you know!)

I got my RC-2 a few days ago and i'm still getting to grips with it.

I love boss peadls and have owned loads of the older ones, still on the lookout for a DM-2 (but isn't everyone?)

For those who are interested my rig at the min is
Jen Red fasel wah
Boss CS-2
Boss OD-2
Zoom uf-01
Zoom pd-01
zoom HL-01
Boss CE-2
Ibanez ADL
Ibanez CCL
Boss PS-2
Boss RC-2

Hi DrDave

Welcome to the Forum from Australia.

Congratulations on your RC-2 win, I saw that pic.

I see you have a Red Fasel Jen.
I have one that I got when I was mid teenager.
Does yours still have the original Pot?
My pot went south, in the first year I had it.
Mine is as new, with the blue vinyl carry bag.

If you have a digital camera, I would really like/love to see pics of your Jen Both inside & out.

You have a few Zoom pedals as well, I really like Zoom gear, I bought a 2020 Multi-effects many years ago,
But I have never seen or used the individual pedals.

I recently repaired a Zoom 606, it's pretty good on some patches, but it seems that in most peoples opinions, the Zoom 505 was a real FIZZER.

Perhaps you can give us some insight into the RC-2, it's high on my GAS list.

Can I ask what sort of guitar/s you play?

Regards Dr. Bob

PS, It's good to have another Dr. on the Forum...

The RC-2 rocks, the drum patterns are cool to practice with at home, but sound far too cheesey to use in any live context. I've recorded a few guitar tracks so far, great to imporvise over. havent figured out how to get it to record longer samples... If anyone can help it'd be great!

Dr Bob, The Wah was quite battered when i got it and the pot was a mess so it had to go into surgery. While I was in there I thought I'd replace the switch too (its true bypass now ). The red fasel has been bashed sometime too, but it works without any problems...

I agree the 505's are a bit naff, the singles i came accross by accident and i love them, they're super quiet and sound huge.

Oh my axe is a red Epi Les paul with p90's played into either a vox cambridge or a marshall dsl401.

Hi DrDave

Thanks for the really great *& very clear pics.

Which pot did you use, I have seen these on EvilBay, the ones
with the black rubber boot/dust cap.
I read that they are the same as the 100K Icar taper pots.

How do you find the taper verses the Wah.
Any reason you chose this pot over the HotPotz II ?

I see what you mean by the minor damage to the red plastic housing on the Fasel.
The board is the same layout as my Jen White Fasel, Mr Cry Baby Super.
Yes I have a later white Fasel Jen & a Red Fasel Jen.

My red Fasel Jen is very different looking to yours.
Especially the red plastic on the Fasel.
It sort of looks melted, or they ran out of potting compound.

It would be great if you could take a pic of the pot & switch area, as well.

I will keep an eye out for some Zoom Single pedals on Evilbay.au

I Have sort of drifted to the White Fasel Mr Crybaby Super
it has a real gritty sound, when you crank up the guitars pickup,
and heel back a bit.

I Also have a modern Dunlop GCB-95, but it seems to lack the wah spirit.
I call it my HiFi Crybaby, as it's sounds so pristine & clean.

Apologizes if I sound like I'm boasting, it's just I get real bad bouts of GAS, & sometime I buy non-working pedals & fix them.
And so, the collection just keeps growing.

Thanks again for the trouble you went to to take & upload the pics.

What is he rubber bumper at the front, next to the switch?

Regards Dr. Bob

Hey Dr Bob this is quickly turning into a wah disgussion

the black bit at the front is to stop the rocker hitting the base plate, it was always there, i don't even notice it.

I've had one of the newer crybaby's too but it just wasn't 'right' and it went to the Evilbay as you put it.

the pot i got from Banzai, it's supposed to be Icar taper, it really is very responsive and i like the lo-fi quality of this baby. Sounds great with a fuzz or OD after it. I feel like a really bad hendrix playing it, which is more than can be said for the old crybaby and my boss pw-10 (love the univibe setting tho).

heres a shot of its switch and pot area. Hope you like

Simple fix, Just GET "MORE PEDALS"

See no more GAS.........................................for a while at least.

If it come back, Simple... Go get some more pedals, or a new Guitar or two.

pedals 4 pv[, I recommend that you, immediately go out & buy at least (2) more pedals, to alleviate some of the pain.
Then call me in the morning.

Regards Dr. Bob

I just might try that Dr. Bob, but I am just going to have to bear it for a while, at least until payday, so I'll call after that.

Yeah thats basically it, they have a few catogories on the website. It seems that they changed the rules recently and you have to be a UK resident to win. Sucks for some people but for us in the UK its a rare chance to enter a competition like this (they're usually all for US citizens only )
