I´m going to put together a ”super” Strat of parts I have at home and some parts that will hopefully be delivered today.
My main idea is as follows: One humbucker (PJ Marx from the 80´s, splitable coils) One volume, of push/pull type for humbucker/single coil A blocked trem, to get maximum sustain and tone. A hardtail doesen´t have the springs in the trem cavity, and to me these springs make a mechanical reverb in a strat and are important.
I have everything except pick-guard and body, hopefully they arrive today.
Is it of any interest for the forum with pictures and so on ????

Hi Goran
I'm so glad you decided to post your. "I'm Building a Super Strat" story here on the forum.
We are all eagerly waiting to see your next creation. We all loved your "IKEA" Telecaster, from a few months ago.
Take lots of pictures.
As always, if you have difficulty posting them, PM them to me, & I'll get them up onto the forum ASAP.
Regards Dr. Bob |

It comes friends The body, p-guard and jackplate has arrived But I had to plug the screw holes in the neck, they didn´t fit with the predrilled in the body So I have to wait until tomorrow..... It´s Friday, no work tomorrow, so I will ..... |

OK, I'm very eager to see the results. Are you gonna paint the body, or do you keep this color?
Some kind of 80's skull and graveyard design on a black body should fit this type of guitar |

Steve Lukather had a Valley Arts superstrat with that sort of thing on it back in the early 90's...looked cool..... |

I like the color of the neck. Could you tell me what sort of wood it is? Rosewood? |

DONE Took 3-4 hours to get it intonated and running, fun hours mostly but also frustration
Forgot to buy gold screws to the p-guard The idea of this strat is to have good tone and sustain, and as simple as possible. I could have done without a volume, but... The blocked tremolo adds attack like a tele, the brass nut adds "pling". The neck, one piece walnut, is not as bright as maple and not as dark as mahogney. Two string trees adds pressure on the nut even for D and G, better tone. The blonde body, of alder, has great midrange. The pickup, PJ Marx, is one of my alltime favourites, have had it since the early 80´s on various guitars. It is very clear and has a lot of bite and harmonics, and also great bottom and upper mids. Reads a little over 8K but is loud as hell. It sound a bit like active EMG´s but without the sterility. Here are some pictures, the guitar is called Svensson V, as it is my 5th put together guitar (IKEA excluded).

The volume knob is the closest I get to heavy metal

I´m quite satified with the outcome |
