Hey, hi everybody! I learned the "less is better", so I want to not have a lot of pedals in order to get a good sound. The prob is that I dont know what to do. I play hard rock/Aor music (influencies are Dokken, Survivor...), so, u know, I have ballads and fast songs too.
It seems that the "right" thing for me would be:
Guitar --> tuner --> distortion --> Eq ---> modulation --> ambience --> AMP
My gear is:
- TU 2
- Mad Cat (a distortion like Proco Rat)
- OD - 1 (yeah, the old japanese one with the famous chip)
- MXR Micro AMp (i used it as a volume pedal)
- BF - 2
- SC- 10 Stereo Chorus Ibanez
- Rv - 3

Im planing to get a Ds- 1 (I found one with that old chip) and a GE-7 (MIJ of course).

What should I do? Wich pedals I should sell? Can u please help me people?

As of EQ, I'm not into using pedals... I've always find that there were not "wide" enough, if you see waht I mean. I use an Alesis meq 230 that cost me 50$, it has 2x30 bands and it rocks ! Perhaps I am wrong, but I really prefers thoses rackable eqs.

Here is what I would do : keep the OD1, take the DS1, change your SC10 for a DC3 (I'm in love with that pedal !!!), unless you use it a lot, sell the BF2 too and add a delay (DD5 or DD6, don't know much about them yet) to your RV2. And finally a rackable EQ like the Alesis.

I use EQ pedals to shape my sound, and I have found that they make a huge difference. It also matters where you put them in your effect chain. I use either a GE-7 or a PQ-4 and put it after the overdrive/distortion in the chain like you.

I found that putting the EQ in front of the overdrive/distortion pedal limits the possibilitys of sound tweaking. Im my opinion the TU-2 should be put last in the effect chain to minimize added noise.

And by the way, sell of all your other pedals and concentrate on Boss...

I wanted to say that

I have my EQ at the end of the chain, after all other effects, and it's certain that it really shapes the sound. I can no longer play without it, my guitar sounds horrible without it.
