No pix from me but I guess I could add them at some point.
1968/69 (depending on who you ask) Fender Twin Reverb. A gem of an amp. Still had the 2 prong plug, original speakers & tubes when I got it. I have played others from this era but none sound as good. This is the sound in my head.
1974 Fender Vibro Champ - the Layla amp with vibro.
90's Mesa Boogie .50+ combo. Got it after I picked up my '91 PRS. Was in the Santana/Trey zone for sure.
Mid 80's Peavey Studio Pro 40 - probably the cause of most of my hearing loss.
Fender Princeton Reverb - It's a solid state amp that the opening band's guitarist gave me after his set on NYE. Missing a few knobs and to be honest, I havent even plugged it in yet. Its always good to have an extra amp around. I'd say 3 of the 5 are worth bragging about. |

yesterday I received my new amp:
The Gallien-Krueger 700RB-II
I wanted an 800RB cause I always loved the Guns N Roses sound, but since that model doesn't have CE and RoH markings, customs won't let 'em get into Europe anymore, they can even f*@king conviscate 'em, for crying out loud.
Anyway, I decided to go with this one, since they all share the same preamp for the past 25 years or so, it's just a different power section so it should get me close to the sound.
And it does! It sounds great through my Avatar 2x12 and GK 2x10 cabs and really gives me that crunchy Duff McKagan vibe. My Hartke 5000, while not a bad amp at all, always sounded way too clean and nicely, I could never get that edge to the sound. I built it in a 4 space rack with the RDD-10 and RCL-10 combo on a shelf, take either 1 or both cabs and I'm packed for most gigs. I'll make some new pictures later.

OK, some new pictures. I have it rackmounted, with the microracks on top. I also have a GK 2x10, but I haven't got that one at home at the moment.
