Hi Guys

Late as it was.
I had a friend drop of a Boss PSC-240A switching plug pack, for a late night service.
I loaned him a Dr. Bob Regulated adapter, to get him out of trouble.

Is anyone here interested in, my findings & some Internal pics?
Or should I just close it up (cross my fingers) & turn it on, & ship it...
Man I hate these things;
I can see them crapping out in a few years or less.
(Seriously! Carry a spare).

This unit will deliver 1000mA (1 Amp) -- yeah right

Regards Dr. Bob

Hi bossarea & Guys

I had a couple of PM's last night, after I posted this thread.
The Emails were voicing their concerns about posting info, about working on mains related equipment.
Especially something as lethal as a (SMPS) switched Mode Power Supply.

I guess as always, the info carriers a "Caveat Emptor"
WARNING - DANGER WILL ROBINSON.
Do this work only if you have an understanding of the dangers of working on switching supplies.

The mains cap can still hold a lethal charge, if he bleed resistor/s have gone open circuit.

The PSC-240A was supplied as part of the BCB-60 case, I belive this is a standard inclusion in the box.

I have a few internal pics, I will post to the internals thread.

I was lucky enough to be able to get internal pics of the chorus
in the newest batch of Aldo pedals.
The chorus did sound very good, & was electrically very quiet.

And good news, it uses good old BBD chips.
I'll post those pics into the internals thread as well.
For $30au it's very good, although the plastic case leaves a bit to be desired.
I guess I should post this to a new Also Chorus pedal thread.

Regards Dr. Bob

Hi Guys

A have posted the pics of the PSC-240A, to page 15 of the "Pedal Internals" thread.
http://www.bossarea.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4147&whichpage=15

With the appropriate warnings.

There is a minor amendment, the 2.5mm screw turned out to be 3.0mm.
If I get some time I will amend the relevant pics.

Regards Dr. Bob
