The box says you need a PSA adapter while the pedal's bottom plate says ACA. The price on the box also reflects today's retail price so at least the box is new.
Is this an old pedal in a new box or a new pedal with an old bottom plate? I wouldn't take the chance unless I got it really cheap.

When did Boss change from the knobs with set screws to the regular pushon ones? My MIJ DS-1 from '82 has the set screw version.
Altho it does have a ACA style jack...

Opening price it decent enough

I'd say its legit. Sometimes things like boxes get inadvertently switched. I actually like the orange tint of this one.

Aaah, didn't notice the set screws. It's probably just a new box then.
I think the set screws disappeared sometime in the mid 80s but I'm not completely sure.

I got an OC-2 from JUly '83 with the set screws

Anyone else have any mid-80's pedals with and without the set screw?
Maybe we can figure out (rouhgly) when Boss phased out the set screw knobs and went for the push on knobs.

The label on the ebay'd DS-1 has a type II label, you can tell by the alignment of 'Product of Roland' vs the type I label
