I just installed a monty allums opto plus kit into a
cs-3 , in that kit was a chip adapter for the 2 op-amps
does anyone know where you can get those adapters from ?

it converts the 8 pin inline op-amp to run the 4558 variant !

thanks

Hi there !

I have found the ones I use here :
http://cimarrontechnology.com/so8dip8tosiladapterpn060301.aspx

The shipping is fast and cheap.

Enjoy !

If you need only one adapter maybe its easier to build it. I did it some time a go and it's really trivial. To give you an idea, here is a pic of both sides of my approach:

The way I understand it, two opamps connected in parallel means twice the output current and because noise is uncorrelated the signal to noise ratio is improved by a factor of 2.

In practice, the improvement it is not as clear cut.

It is stacking - and then the adapter you're talking about
converts it to inline IC format.

I've only seen these on Monte Allums' site - they are a bit expensive in my opinion.

I've never tried stacked opamps - does it really make that big a difference ?
