| A terrible shame, a musicians musician, he did not have the arrogance that he had every right to have with his talent and success. |

probably my all time favourite band..i can't even put into words how sad this makes me as i don't think they ever got to make up their differences with waters even after live 8...the closest i can come is i feel as bad as the time i heard George Harrison had passed away....this one is on me rick... |

Interesting to see how attitudes change over time:
About twenty years ago we would have felt like: "Yes sad, but then the man was 65" Today we tend to think: "He could have lived for another 20 years or so"
Another point: Muscians from the "golden days" will be remembered, how will we look upon the guys from the newer generations??
Don't get me wrong I like the Floyd as anyone else here on this forum. Their music is almost like an adventure. Used to listen a lot to them with headphones on, and each listening time would be like watching a film. Their music was new for the time, but also very simple and effective, something not many people seem to talk about.
Heard Allan Parsons make some comments on the subject last night. If you want to hear his remarks go to
www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/radcliffemaconie
and click on the listen again for Monday |

Before I was a real guitar player I was an accomplished air guitarist. One of the first songs I ever wished I could play was "Time" (used to listen on 8 track) His keyboard skills added so much to there sound, Floyd has always been one of my top fave bands...A sad day indeed |

| The link that Visserman put up is a 2 hour long radio show. I scanned through and they play an old song that he wrote at 01:13:54 followed by the interview with Allan Parsons at 01:18:00 |

| It always so sad to hear that someone from one of rock's greatest bands ever is gone. Richard Wright also wrote Us and Them from DSOTM. He did some really great work on that album and was a big part of making perhaps the greatest album ever. |
