its called Gas and i had to let it out. i was originally saving for a nice strat, but this baby came along

behold, the Minarik Cherub Inferno cracked mirror.

http://img385.imageshack.us/my.php?image=minarikheadstockvc0.jpg

first ill start by saying that coming across lefty guitars is rare, not to mention lefty guitars that only has 25 in existence. this baby is stamped #4.

like i said, i want another strat so bad, but i wouldnt be able to live with myself if i passed this up. i think right handers are probably used to having tempting guitars pop up all the time, but something like this in lefty is huge!

at first i didnt know what to think. im not too fond of "Metal Bling" guitars like the BC Rich Warlock or the Bich but i think this one isnt so metal and is a little more tasteful. apparantly its just like a Les Paul but with a crazy shape. select mahogony body and neck, maple top. full abalone body binding and white around neck and headstock.

im at the point where i have way to much gear, and i have a little philosophy that says anytime i want new gear, i gotta get rid of old gear first.(it also keeps my bank account full) AW-2, TW-1, CS-1, DF-2, DD-2, CE-5, PSM-5, CE-3 are the unlucky pedals i sold to fund this baby. plus a little dippage into the bank account, but this is a special occasion. the first 3 pedals were doubles anyway.

Hi Strato

WOW

I can see why you had to have it, I have a friend that keeps talking about this guitar,
I didn't pay much attention to him, till I saw those pics.

While it's not my style of guitar,
Actually - What is my style?
I can see why you wanted it.....

Regards Dr. Bob

. apparantly its just like a Les Paul

nice geet, and you know it's gotta be good if the above quote is true. And I can certianly relate to the too much gear problem. It's the GAS that does it.
Here's the question strato; how many loonies did you give the nice man for the nice guitar?

les is more

Nice guitar! I became aware of Minarik through Fireball Ministry, as one of the guitarists, Emily (I wish she was my girlfriend) uses them...

thanks guys!!

pedals 4 pv, i paid $650 USD total shipped. although $650 USD is practically $650 CAD now these retail for somewhere between 1000 and 1500 although the lefty cracked mirror i think was 1400 new.. (theyre long sold out) i got it from a guy on the HC forum.

Dr Bob, i know what you mean, like i said, im really not too into "extreme" guitars, but this one i had to own. im usually more of a strat style body kinda guy...you cant beat the comfort and playability but i think this is more of a Sunday kind of guitar. im probably gonna keep it under the bed in its case. any time i feel like really cutting loose, ill still turn to the Strat of course or one of my other 4 strat style guitars, but i needed a luxury guitar.

ya that Paul Stanley is nice too. i remember reading an article on it years ago. i think its called a Black Diamond and there was only 100 made or something if i remember correctly. nonetheless, i love the mockingbird style...

Good deal. I've noticed that they usually up the price of left hand stuff. Not fair really. Is it heavy?

thats the beauty (and ugly side) of lefty. on the one side, you cant find jack when buying a guitar, but one good thing for the buyer is that lefty instruments are hard to sell, and you can usually find axes cheap as long as youre buying used. most times when buying a new lefty axe, youll see a price increase of anywhere from$20-$100 over its righty counterpart.

as for the weight, its surprisingly light. especially for a mahogony body and neck which is known for having great warm tone, but also for its heaviness. it has a chambered body, meaning its kinda like a semi hollow. certain parts are shaved out for better resonance. you always hear people say that the louder it is unplugged, the better it will sound plugged in. (i dont necessarilly agree with this but thats what they say) kinda like the difference between the sound properties of an acoustic and a solidbody like a strat. (or in your case a LP)apparantly it was even designed to have more wood on the bass side of the body to enhance lows and the less on the treble side to enhance treble. or was it the other way around,

Yeahh That's where your tone is. Does this mean that you'll now be known as "Minarik Cherub Inferno cracked mirror o sphere"?
