You cannot be shure that the second one is a MIJ.
This seller sold me a DS-1 with a switched bottom plate - the pedal was surely made in Taiwan.

Was this recent, or a while ago...? I checked for negative feedback, but there hasn't been any for this seller in quite some time.
But yeah, good point -- the same could probably even be true for the one I posted, but in that case the seller would be a blatant liar, as he was questioned about it up front, which you can see on the auction.

Quite recent - I didn't leave feedback - didn't want to bother with sending back to US and all that.. It was an old taiwan and sounded OK.. it had a green label MIJ bottom plate put on it
He later stated that he had forgot to change the wording in the listing from black label to green label - that might have turned on the red lights had he done that
