I have had all 3, the only one I kept is the HR-2. The PS-3, I did not like the delay tone, compared to DD-2. The PS-5, well, I did not like the Harmized tone, and, did not like the whammy function as I bought it to replace a Digitech WHII., I went back and replaced my original WH-II. and sold the PS-5.
I simply like the sound of the older boss pedals, they "seem" to sound a bit more organic.
The combination pedals, like the PS-3, ARE EXCELLENT value for money though because it's like 2 pedals in one. Think BCB-3 Carry box and/or quick setup situations.
SO, i'm not that much help but that's my 2cents. |

| I really like the doubling mode of the PS-3 and added octave up or down mode of the PS-5. I've never really managed to agree with the harmonizer in either the PS-5 or the HR-2. |

i've really only used the harmonizer as an octaveer pedal, really. |
