HI All,
scoured through about five pages doing a search on the NS-2 before posting this question...not much on the net, the NS-2 is kinda 'unique'
What would you place before the NS-2 in the loop?
The Boss effects book suggests an Auto-Wah & Octave before the input.
Also suggests placing the NS-2 after the gtar, then Delays after the NS-2 loop (Gtar->NS-2>pedals->NS-2->Delays)
Someone here (idk who) suggested a GE-7 from a book
Anyone know how the NS-2's filter loop works at the front end? Filters both equally, or filters the post-ns-2 into the pre-ns-2 into the Delays?
It not a simple straight through like the NF-1 or why would have a loop port? Any advantages disadvantages between the two?

thanks

If you use the loop, it will only suppress the noise coming from that loop. If you dont use the loop, everything up to that point will be noise suppressed. Pedals like octaves and autowahs change the pitch of your note, so that could be dropped below the threshold frequency of the NS-2, and it could cut out part of the tone you wanted. You dont want to put the Octave (or whatever) after your distortion, EQ, etc, so its possible to have them in front without being effected.

Hey thanks for a great explanation, make sense now with using autowahs and octaves (does the ps-5 count as an octave?) and the filtering.

Yea I would keep a PS-5 outside the loop. Anything that could change the pitch frequently should be kept outside. A GE-7 could be inside because its constantly outputs the same pitch (even though it could be different from the input), but because its the same always, the NS-2 can be adjusted for it, and it doesnt need to be changed.

I would put a filter after everything, but keep it in the loop. (so the pedal right before NS-2 Return)
