hey there. due to previous, *ahem*, "technical diffulties", i decided to completely strip the board, pots, jacks etc from my BF-2. i wired it up for a tap tempo and works great. i even managed to make it momentary LED. anyway, the new paint is currently drying..
problem is that the 4 knob holes and the output jack are empty since i left the pots and output jack out. but now i have 5 large holes in my pedal. anyone have any suggestions on how i can fill these in, or at least make it look better? i dont really like the idea of putting the knobs back on as they are useless.
im also considering deiffernet titles. im thinking simply the "TT-2 Tap Tempo" any ideas anyone?

| I think TT-2 sounds good. I'll be making my own soon. I'll probably leave the knobs and pots on though. |

| Use old doll or action figure heads where the knobs used to be...frankenstein heads? Use a tap from a tap dancing shoe to cover the unused output jack....just thinking out loud... |

| You could plug the holes with jacks & create a handy splitter box. Hell, you could even throw in a pot or two to handle a simple boost or level control or something. |

I think I would go for a piece of aluminium screwed on the place where pots used to be.
I would let the jack hole as it is.

| Could you perhaps reveal how you made it momentary LED? Can we see some pictures when it's done? |

If you go to a place like Rainbow Kits, they're probably got one for an LED blinker project, and you've probably got plenty of room in the case for the board. There are some really large LEDs available that are pretty close in size to those control holes.
You ought to at least momentarily fool all of the guitar players in the first few rows with it...
/you could be like John Petrucci //"...and then I step on this switch, and kill people..."

hey there, coverup. i can provide pictures as soon as i get a hold of a digi camera. i owe pictures to many threads actually.
all i did to make the LED momentary was join the orange wire from the LED and the red battery wire with a marette.then i soldered the green LED wire with the purple switch wire to the output jack |

use your old BF-2 panel as template to make a no-hole aluminum blank. use contact cement to glue it in place. it will look exactly like a "blank" boss pedal.
with respect to the empty output jack hole, wire ANOTHER jack to the switch to you can tap tempo TWO pedals at once say a PH-3 and the DD-5???? that may work nicely??? THEN IT WOLD BE WORTHY OF THE TT-2 moniker!!! |

i actually resolved this problem. i painted the case black and just put the pots and knobs back on (MIJ black knobs) but i put the knob label on backwards. its a shiny sliver chrome colored and looks pretty killer. i plan to do the ""Tap Tempo" text in a similar color. |

Hi StratoSphere Where are the pictures dude? We all wanna see the pictures. After all that kerfuffle with the PCB & staying up late & backwards soldering & blah blah blah blah blah We deserve to see some pics
I hope it looks great!

haha? what backwards soldering? you must be thinking of someone else.... (whistling, rubbing arm, and looking around room trying to blend in)
TT-2 looks pretty good but like i said, the only thing i have left to do is paint the text on. its on in marker right now but i have a DS-1 to fix first.
hopefully the woman brings her digi camera this weekend. i gotta take one of the TT-2, the whole gear display, the Whaky Paki, the wierd number on the SD-2, anything else? |

Hi StratoSphere

Is the neighbors wife cute??
And <<backwards soldering>> Now I've never really tried that --- Hmmmm Is it conducive to any type of weight loss - or is it just an acquired technical skill, that I've never heard of, or Mastered.
