It would be nice to have a switching system on the floor, and all relevant tweakable pedals at your fingertips..

When I saw Mars Volta play here, the rhythm guitarist had a tableful of effects beyond the huge collection scattered around the stage.

Yeah, Paul is also a "sound manipulator". He handles vocal effects, and helps Omar, the lead guitarist, set up some of his sounds.
