Andreas mentions a foil shield (for the CPU?) inside of this pedal and also the earliest DD-3s... I am going to assume that, because the bottom plate is already grounded and is acting as a shield, that this foil shielding is over all or a portion of the upper side of the circuit board.
This far I've been inside three DD-2s and have yet to see any foil shielding -- could someone enlighten me as to the dimensions and approximate location of it, and where/how it is tied to ground?
It is attached to the case via the stereo output jack hole; the jack holds it in place. The pic kinda shows how it should be placed inside the pedal, if you had x-ray vision.
The internal wires go ON TOP of the shield, thereby kinda forcing the shield right down on the big chip.
That's perfect -- thank you! I've got some copper sheeting that I can insulate and make shields for mine out of; this gives me a template for how to shape them. Thanks again...
When I fixed my PS-2 it took me 2-3 weeks from taking it apart until I put it together. The PS-2 has the same sheet and I think I tried every possible position before I got it right. When I finally got it positioned correctly and sqeezed everything into the box a wire came loose and I had to take everything apart to solder it back in. I was fuming
