hey Guys. looking for some advice on my setup and adding a DD-6 to it.
currently the most of what i play is metal, with a tinnnny bit of light rock.

my set up goes:

TU-2 -> DS-1 -> MT-2 -> MD-2 -> GE-7 -> NS-2 -> PS-5 -> EH-2

I'm looking to add a DD-6 in there as reading the manual states it can give a doubling effect, but dont want any more than 8 pedals in my chain (as this is the maximum number i can fit in my pedal box). i'm thinking i may bump either the PS-5 or the EH-2 back into its box for a while and use the DD-6 instead, for its "doubling" feature. Is adding a DD-6 to my chain going to give me a noticable difference? has anyone got a DD-6 and set it to the lowest delay time (1ms, i beleive)? Is there much of a difference? anyone got any suggested settings for the EH-2 when playing muddy metal?

hey Stomp98, i never found the doubling feature much use on the DD-6. it can sound ok in your bedroom but if you're playing any kind of metal and especially with a band i'd doubt you'd ever notice it.

a thought just occured! what if you add another pitch shifter. use the first to harmonize up one octave and the other to harmonize it back down. that would double the sound i'd imagine.

i think you've a great set-up as it is and personnaly i'd stay with that (maybe add a touch of compression for fast tapping and the like!!)

The MZ-2 combines distortion with a doubling and chorus effects. The distortion sound is fairly close to the MT-2. You may want to consider it as an alternative to both the DD-6 and MT-2 if you don't care about longer delay times.
