What do you guys think the most rare/obscure Boss pedal is? It's kind of hard to judge by what the Boss Book has to say about production quantities, as it seems their figures don't seem to be on par with what is available in the collector's marketplace.
A few contenders in my opinion seem to be SP1, PQ4 and DC2. The VB2 seems to rank pretty high as a rarity too, but now that it's risen so high in value it seems like there are more and more of them hitting the auction block. |

| PQ-4 and DC-2 I have seen rather often for sale in Sweden, at rather low prices. But I think SG-1, SP-1 are among the rarest. |

After I posted, I thought about it more. I had forgotten about the SG1. I guess it's so rare that I completely forgot about it!
PQ4 is quite hard to find here in the States. The only one I've ever seen is actually the one I own. It's strange since there are a lot of music shops here in LA. I do see the SG1 from time to time around town though. |

| I have both SG-1 (with transparent switch and metal screw) and PQ-4, the latter I bought for about $40 a couple of month ago. Its a really useful EQ-pedal in combination with dist-pedals. |

| Wow! If you can find another PQ4 for such a good price, I'd love to know! I'd love to have a backup for live use! |

In addition to those you've already mentioned I'd like to say the GE-6. I mostly scan the UK market and I've only seen 2 for sale (one of which is mine now ) here over the last 3 years. |

| I wouldn't mind getting my foot on a GE6 some day, but it's kind of low on my priority list for now... Unless of course I happen to run across one in a shop, but it's not one that I've actively tried to find. I do seem to remember seeing one on eBay a few months ago, but I can't recall the closing bid price. |

| The GE-7 is much better anyway so the GE-6 will most likely end up on a shelf. |

| That's actually been the fate of several of my Boss pedals already! Some of them I would never take to a live performance, simply out of fear of having them stolen! Imagine taking a VB2, SP1 and SG1 out to a gig and having your pedal board ripped off! Ouch. |

That is a real danger. A pedal is so easy to steal and pedal boards are often placed right at the front of the stage so the risk is definitely there. |
