I noticed on the PH-2 page they say Japan Black label and Taiwan Silver label.
I have one with Black Taiwan Label.
It's dated March 1995.
Do you find this happens much?

Dr. Bob,
Do you know what's up with the label in question?
I keep thinking you are replying, but you are talking about PMs'.
I know there has got to be an explaination of the different color labels, but I haven't heard any yet.

hi scrappy1
Apologies for going off topic.
I don't have very much info on the differences in the labels, & their inception & phase out dates.

Might have to ask Bossarea to chime in here, he has a vast database that he might be able to mine for this information.

There is always the possibility that someone swapped out thew base plate, unfortunately it happens more often that we would expect or believe,
perhaps because of a damaged-missing label, or worse still an unscrupulous seller.

Apologies again for the off topic replies.

Regards Dr. Bob

Thanks Dr. Bob, and no problem.
The thing is that the pedal is in near mint condition and has the original box and manual with the serial number written in pencil on the inside of the manual.
I know the pencil is not factory of course, but it leads me to believe that the owner wrote it in there at some point.
I've seen that a lot in older manuals.
I know my grandpa used to do that with everything he had a manual for.

I would like to hear what Bossarea has to say.

The black label MIT PH-2s mentioned are original.

1986-1990 Black Label MIJ (type 2)
1990-1995 Black Label MIT (type 11)
1995-1997 Black Label MIT (type 15)
1997-2000 Silver Label MIT (type 14 or 16)

Does your PH-2s have 2 or 3 bulletpoints on the label? The "uncrew using your fingers..." part is missing on the type 15 label. I'm not 100% sure which month in 1995 they changed from 11 to 15 but I think it was in December.

Sorry about the delay. I've been away for a week.
