Old home organs are incredible mother lodes of parts for scavenging. This site is a nice resource.

Yes indeed Laurie,
"My old organ" has blown the motherload on numerous occasions. Sadly enough it has been scavenged, picked at, kicked around, spit on, had brief wood-related infestations, been beat on, even discarded only to be revitalized by others and occasionally ignored, left sitting idle to collect dust and cobwebs. It's still an extremely usable instrument but has weathered the years of abuse poorly.
I've often contemplated purchasing a larger or more powerful organ, but those who have witnessed me using the instrument state that no improvement or modifications are needed & they're right. It's not the size of your organ, how nice it looks, or even how much output it's capable of, but how you use your organ. Technique & attention to detail and nuance are the key.
Pics coming soon!!!

BTW - nice post Racer - good useful info. Thank you!
You knew I wouldn't/couldn't resist.
