I've just won an auction of a good-as-new DS-2 in box but no instructions for 41 GBP incl shipping to Spain. The thing is, after two days or so, the seller adds this bit:
On 03-Oct-09 at 22:20:10 BST, seller added the following information:
Please note this is an early Boss DS-2 . Made in Japan. Thanks.
According to bossarea database they are quite rare, and looks like new in the pictures. The guy is nice and I don't know whether to believe him or not, so I'll wait until my new pedal arrives.
What should I do in case I discover it's a MIT instead of a MIJ? |

If it is a MIJ, good for you seeing that it looks like it's in good condition. Provided that the pedal might be a MIT, wait to leave any feedback before resolving the issue. Sellers seem to be more cooperative when they know their perfect positive feedback might be on the line. |

| Yeah, of course I will tell him "WTF??" in case he lied, but I just don't know what to ask for, as I do want the pedal whether it's MIJ or MIT, I just don't want to be taken as a fool and, of course, I'd rather have a more valuable pedal in my PB. I don't know about the sound itself as I haven't seen any comparatives to this day, but the MIT sounds nice to me. |

The pedal arrived just some minutes ago and amazingly it's MIJ! According to the serial database it's from April 1988.
I'm more than happy, my second boss pedal and it's MIJ! I don't know whether to place it in my PB or not |

thank you guys! I'm very happy with it, now my TS9DX is used as a 'just warmer' tone and when I have to rock I use the DS-2. We did a version of Depeche Mode's in your room, strummed a chord at the end and the sustain was beautiful and so long I had to stop it myself!
Good luck, Laurie! I was looking for a DS-1 and even thought about purchasing a Keeley one, but ebay makes these things possible every now and then. |
