Quadraverb is a great rack unit. I have played guitar through one after the guitar amp. Why can't you do a wet/dry/wet set up?

When you say after the guitar amp do you mean in the effects loop or at the desk coming back at you through the monitors....? the wet/dry/wet setup i was hoping to do would mean using the POD XT pro as a pre amp and a splitter..i.e. left/right stereo out to a power amp and two 1x12's with the unprocessed out to my tube amp in the centre.... i used a tranny marshall last weekend on a few gigs as my amps are on the bench for some TLC at the moment, and i wasn't exactly enamoured with the sound and going for a tube pre and power amps is well beyond my budget at the moment..the best i got was running it in stereo off the CH-1 with my little 1961 Selmer 1x12... Did you ever try using your quadraverb at the end of your pedalboard and before your amps on a clean setting...? basically using it as a top end reverb pedal that you didn't switch off...?....

I know i'm coming across a bit nuts here but tone is really important to me... i'm trying to broaden the usual sound of a guitar/bass/drums setup..i play a lot of backing as well as lead so if i can get something a little different going on,thats what i'm trying to do,the idea of the dynacord was to try to bring something of a keyboard/hammond sound to the guitar without going into guitar synths etc.... but incorparating racks and pedals is getting a bit more complicated than i imagined...whats happening with the pod is i think the pedalboard going in the front end before the amp,is overloading the signal(even though line 6 claim you can do this and actually recommend you put pedals in the input like a regular guitar amp) the idea of a quadraverb is just to add some reverb to the sound to try to broaden the sound of the Dynacord and my sound in general..some rooms we play in can be a little 'dry' sounding to my ears.....

I have never actually personally owned a Quadraverb, but was in a band that had one. It sounded good with a direct out from the amp to the desk and the Quadraverb mixed in at the desk. I also liked to go direct to the desk through the Quadraverb, bypassing the guitar amp completely. I did that sometimes when I was too lazy to drag my amp to band practice. I never tried it between the pedal board and amp. Does it have the correct impedance to go in front of the amp? Alesis did at one point also release a Quadraverb GT designed for guitar.

In the early 90's I played live (direct to PA) and recorded everything through a Quadraverb GT. I was younger and poorer, and it was a great workhorse.

I liked it so much back then that I recently bought one (now they are "vintage") for $100. Alesis just got it right with the reverb in these things.

My friend @work has an Alesis reverb unit by which he swore.
He's now moved into the digital domain & hasn't been happy with any of the plugins. He has tried many.
I keep telling him to try the demos before laying down paychecks but no..

I'm not sure if outboard processing would solve his problem. External H/W based "plugin" processors are spendy but is probably his only option. At least I have his interest piqued. If he went out of his DAW into a TC or Alesis type rack unit & back in, I'm afraid the latency would be a show-stopper.

Anyway, I've not heard the Alesis units with my bloody hands on the controls but read that they're damned good.

Think i need to get back to the guy selling the alesis in the local ad's so...it's the original one and he's still looking for 80 euro.... not to bad i suppose for what it does,i heard the stereo chorus and the delays in this thing aren't too bad either, probably going to get some sort of stereo switcher and go with just a stereo rig with the valve amps..i still want to inc the pod and the dynacord if possible.... at this rate i will be giving Gilmour and The Edge a run for their money when it comes to live rigs...........

Not sure what your budget is, but I would buy it if I could get it locally for that price. I definitely want to add one of these to my collection at some point.

The Alesis Wedge had the same (or maybe slightly improved) reverbs/processing as the quadraverb but in a desktop style unit. They were really, really excellent. I think the form factor deterred alot of potential users though. They ended up blowing them out for a fraction of their worth before discontinuing them.

A little update.....i nearly have the musicman amp back up and running...when i was inside poking around and fitting new caps,i sprayed a little switch cleaner on the RCA connectors for the reverb.....and guess what the reverb is now working but i'm getting a little hum and a blue streak inside the tubes so until i sort this out shes staying off.... but i reckon i'm nearly there.....

Update.... 'the blue streak'.. is normal just the high voltage coming in off standby...i'm a bit paranoid since this is the biggest and most dangerous repair i've attempted so far..happy that i have it back, going to run them(musicman and marshall) in stereo at the weekend...the reverb sounds pretty decent on about 3 or 4 on the knob..so one amp 'dry' and one with reverb off the stereo outs of the CH-1....i'll probably 'spring' for the proper accutronics tank in the new year as the one in it at the moment is salvaged out of an old peavey bandit......
