Hey Mully, you're not crazy, but the price is. Of course if you're feeling like needing the top thing and if you're willing to pay the money, why not? I prefer making my cables myself. At the moment I have Klotz AC110SW cable with neutrik jacks. It was pretty cheap and sounds good. I was thinking of buying a ready made one, but the price put me off. I would most probably not be able to tell the difference in sound anyway so that was my choice. |

I'm using klotz as well and they sound good to me... i also use a Fender cable i got many years ago as a freebie with a guitar, from the pedalboard to the backline as it has that metal wire/armoured shield around it that has seen it survive constant gigging for years accross stages without any ill affects... |

130 euros for a simple guitar cord is way too much, a ripoff if you ask me. I also use a bunch of Klotz cords, and a few selfmade ones with Neutrik jacks. The one thing I always stress to anyone who plays an electronic instrument is to learn to solder, IMO it's just another skill just like learning chords and scales and the likes. |

Hey, thats a clever observation, never thought of it this way, but it is very true, soldering skills saved me a lot of money. |

i use the Planet Waves cables from Long & McQuade. Seem pretty decent but the big bonus is they have a lifetime warranty! If it breaks in any way whatsoever, no questions asked, swap it out for a new cord!

and hey i agree 100% with this quote! Simple guitar maintance such as string changes, intonation, action, and basic soldering is just as important as learning a basic chord |

Still curious if the Canare cable I referred to above would be suitable for pedal-to-pedal connections.
Basically I'm looking for a thinner cable, that would be of sufficient quality and not add a lot of noise, or act as an antenna for RF interference.
I can see how the Mogami 2524 would be a quality, thick cable for guitar-to-amp or Guitar-to-pedalboard cable, but it's about 90 cents a foot vs. about 35 cents for that Canare stuff.

why not buy a short length and a couple of jack plugs and try it out...?
the one thing that always amazes me especially over on the HC and other forums is when guys are talking about tone and are going on about the sound of Claptons amp or Hendrix's fuzz pedal and the type of caps and resistors etc..they never seem to stop and think that the gear was all BRAND NEW...and the CABLES WERE CURLY/ EL CHEAPO STUFF..... ...me...i said this before i'm all for reliability but a lot of these expensive cables n stuff is audiophile hooey....for the majority of us guitar players and for the bread n butter/day to day stuff your planet waves, klotz, fender, homemade etc are perfectly fine...so i say go for it Disco Stu.... .... |

Franzo --
I like the way you think. I'm just wondering if this Canare stuff will function physically, soldering it to some jacks I have laying around.
Now where is that curly cable with 90 degree jacks that I used to have ?? It was just here like twenty years ago... |

This...http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/-Premium-Vintage-Coil-Guitar-Cable?sku=330241 is what I run from my guitar to my pedalboard. I just find that a curly doesn't get wrapped around my leg as easily as a straight cord will(and no, I'm not interested in a wireless either. Used one for years and I prefer the more "solid" tone of using actual cords). To run from my board to my amp I just use one of those "cheapo" Fender cords Franzoni alluded to...no problems at all here, I think everyone can hear me very well... |
