I own one of these babies and love it. Might be a bit "Long in the Tooth" but it's my main recording rig. Also there's FINALLY 64-bit drivers for it! I normally record on my Mac G5 system but just bought a Windows laptop - Installed Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit and I use Sonar Producer 8.5 64-bit - AMAZING with the GS-10.
Under Drivers the WIN 7 32 and 64 bit are available... it says something about there for the FANTOM (?) but they are for the GS-10 - I installed em and they work FLAWLESSLY.
There was one other recent post about the GS-10. I think it's buried many pages down in the "Mod & Technical" section. I belive it was something to do with not being able to reinitialize it, or maybe a flat battery backup memory issue?
Thanks Bud... I am totally in love with my GS-10 - if you can get one you'd be amazed at what it offers - I got mine off Ebay and it's the best piece of hardware I have bought in the past 20 years (and I have a bedroom full of amps, pedals, etc.)
I discovered a new "TIP" just this morning by accident - I own most all the high-dollar Amp Sims (actually bought 90% of them) - including:
Amplitube 2 Amplitube Fender Amplitube Hendrix Amplitube Metal Amplitube 3 Amplitube X-Gear Guitar Rig 3 (soon to buy 4) Nomad's Rock Amp Legends Waves GTR Overloud's TH1.1
and a bunch of Plug-In only sims too both Free and commercial. I also use Logic Pro 9 on my Mac system and Sonar Producer 8.5 and Studio One on my WIndows 7 machine and use their built-in sims...
ALL of these were not giving me the desired sounds with the GS-10 - too "noisy", etc and they just didn't sound right - I used to use some of them on my IMac G5 before I owned any interface and went "direct" using a 1/4" -> 1/8" mini adapter into my Mac's LINE-IN - actually sounded pretty good as the G5 Imac's have a small pre-amp built-in and the PPC G5's had a better sound chip than the INTEL ones (or so I'm told in some of the Mac recording forums) but when I got my GS-10 I couldn't seem to get an ACCEPTABLE SOUND from any of them - being that the GS-10 is an AWESOME Interface (IMO) I couldn't understand the problem - I tried setting up a CLEAN SOUND in the editor to use for a "base sound" but it still wasn't quite right to me when I used it with all these great Amp Sims. I discovered the secret to getting THE BEST SOUND FROM ANY AMP SIM - simply press TUNER BUTTON on the GS-10 (effectively bypassing all the GS-10's stuff) - use this as your BASE SOUND and adjust the INPUT and OUTPUT settings in the Amp Sim as it will sound kind low volume wise - IT WORKS BEAUTIFULLY! Probably works on a lot of M.E. Pedals/Inerfaces.
