hey gang - a little thought here ...
as an eBayer, I am not hardcore, but, I really do like to find either a CHEAP BIN auction or lay in wait until the end.
LIWUTE works really really good if a) not too many people know about the auction, b) something is "mislisted" ie. DD-2 may be listed by someone not-in-the-know as "Guitar effect pedal", or BOss Digital Delay, and thereofre if searching DD-2 you won't find it. IT simply follows that the LESS people know, there is a better chance of getting a steal.
I have done a few posts of some interesting finds, but I realize this my cheeze off other forum members, who also employ the LIWUTE strategy.
SO, i just wanted y'all to know I post these oddball things out of interest and NOT to create DEMAND or cause competition.
IF someone here is really irritated by this, maybe we can post COMPLETED auctions etc etc, or each can decide fro themself - I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't irritating any hardcore eBayers by posting some auction "finds" as no doubt, this site will likely increase competition and force prices up on some unusual pieces.
Any thoughts dialogue appreciated. |

That's a good question, indeed.
To be honest I made a few good deals using this section (recently the CE-2 + DD-2), so who could I be to complain ?
The fact is, if you're not yourself (you as general, not "you Starr38" particularly )) interested in an auction, it's quite good to share waht could be a goo deal.
On the other hand, if someone is on it, you may ruin this goo deal.
Hard to tell... |

I was arguing back and forth with myself when I added this section of the forum. Other forums have completely banned auction discussions (some has even sensored the word Ebay) and it has both pros and cons.
Personally I find it intersting to read discussions about auctions. In many cases they highlight lies and wild assumptions made by some sellers while in other cases it is about an intersting item. I'm not sure how much these discussions affect the price. I suspect that most people who read these discussions are already looking at most Ebay auctions anyway but I might be wrong. |

| Maybe a "Looking For" area can be added along with Buy/Sell, that way if you find something that someone on here is looking for, you can give them a heads up about it. If they aren't interested, at that point post on the eBay forum. Seems a bit complicated, but maybe that way we won't tick off anyone here who may have been trying to keep a certain item a secret. Just a thought...However I do find the listings with unusual, imagined, or just humorously worded descriptions to be interesting and enjoyable. |

this is definately a tricky one. on one hand a link may help someone get a pedal theyve wanted, but on the other hand, it may take it from someone else.
personally, i know what im looking for, and i find it on my own. i love the humorous ones though. my favorite was the tick that the guy pulled off his dogs ass.
i say post away. if someone gets mad becuase they wanted that certain pedal, tough. thats life. |

| Now that I think about it, definitely post away, even if its not posted here, someone who is looking for something will find it anyways. |

You're right. And the "Ebay related Discussions" is my favourite part of this forum.

Jack:
I appreciate your comments. I enjoy the eBay related discussions good bad or otherwise.
Other members have posting things that interested me, but never found myself, alghough I do quite a few searches. I also enjoy some of the wacky claims and things that show up on eBay so I would not want to see any changes here, OR any banned discussions or topics on eBay.
