| That pic needs to be a sticky in the mod forum for anyone who inquires about making Boss pedals true bypass. I always tell people that while it can be done, its a complicated process, and looking at this pic, it becomes fairly obvious that true-bypass is not easily achieved with a Boss pedal.... |

That's probably the roughest, least aesthetic thing I've ever seen done to a Boss pedal I felt like a criminal drilling a 3mm hole through the "o" in "Tone" when did the Keeley seeing eye mod to my DS-1.
Yes - I think a pic posted to the FAQ forum and the note "it's too hard", buy a looper. |

I guess we'll never really know Kamahl... Ahhh sorry Ronster..
Let's also paint a sh!tty thick Black strip over all the lettering.
Regards Bob
Note: Kamahl, Malaysian born Australian singer, who is always quoted as saying "Why are people so unkind"? Sometime back in the 70's he made this comment on a Show called Hey Hey It's Saturday, with Daryl Somers & Aussie Ostrich(a large puppet) It became his catch phrase & a million parodies. I guess you have to be an Aussie to really get it.

| i have never seen a Keeley pedal look like that. Usually they are very professional and finished looking. I'd question the validity of that. Jeesh... |

I read it as being a "Keeley mod"... done to the specification, but not done by Keeley.
This is what my "home done" seeing eye mod looks like (NOT true-bypass - I use an external looper).

Yeah, the only thing that Keeley does that looks remotely similar is the mods they do the the Ibanez AD9 (as seen here: http://www.robertkeeley.com/product.php?id=39) The seller does mention its a one-off, and I recall reading a review about a Seeing Eye Mod modded DF-2 that supposedly Keeley did as a custom job. So maybe its legit, as I do see a Keeley Electronics sticker on it like they usually use and do on their modded pedals (and not a generic one that they include with your order)...So either its legit or someone got hold of some Keeley Electronics stickers... |

| I just took a look at the photos of the DS-1 again. The only other thing I have seen that looks similar on a DS-1 is that a year or 2 ago there was a guy selling DS-1's that had a tube in it, and because of the tube being in the battery compartment, I think they did some weird footswitch mod so you didn't step on the tube or something...Just found the link to the tubed pedals I was talking about...has the weird footswitch "mod", but looks nothing like the one on eBay. Here's what I was talking about: http://www.diokay.com/ds1toob.htm |
