| I can't remember if it's just a red LED or does it change colour on the RV-5? If it's just a simple, single colour red LED, then any old 3mm red LED will do. |

| Just test with a battery first / another adapter / (and just hold another led across the molding points) to check that your power is ok. The led on a DD-2 I use to have didn't lit up even though the effect worked. Turned out that the power from the adapter was just slightly below the level for it to start glowing. With a battery it was fine, and later the led also worked with the adapter. Maybe the power just droped a few percent from the wall or something. However my RV-5 didn't show any similar behaviour. |

So...(stupid AGAIN) Is an LED just an LED (I'm guessing so), or are there different types and configs of them. IE - is using it as a clipping diode just nature of the beast or a specialized configurated recipe of the "base model". Also, I saw someone list 5mm LED's for Boss... Is it 3mm or 5mm??? Not that I don't trust Laurie, just a sticky catch point.
T-D Post note : Just red as far as I don't know yet. Should be. |

It is 3mm and a LED is a LED is a LED (for this application anyway). Only difference would be if you wanted to swap it for a superbright blue or white or something. Might want to change the associated resistor because it can be a bit bright (this is personal choice - the LED will work fine if you jst bung it in).
Only thing to worry about is polarity - there is a flat side of the housing, just make sure the flat on the new one is in the same place. |

Thanks guys!!! Laurie - please explain the technical term "BUNG". If that means I have to use my ass to install it, I'm afraid I lack the necessary anal dexterity to accomplish the mission.
