If anyone does, I'd like to know the values to the four potentiometers (don't ask; it's a looooooong story). Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately not. I have picked up a couple of DOD pedals of late though. What's your thoughts on them?

on mine, the values of the Quarts, Cream, and Pasteurization pots are each 100k. I'm not sure what the Spill pot's value is, as the back of the pot is covered by a sticker, but IIRC DOD only used pots marked W100k or C500k, so it's probably one or the other.

Awesome. Thank you very much. Not that I'll find the exact replacements , but shoe horning something else in, at least I have an idea of where to start.
I have a whack of DOD pedals now. Mostly, they were given to me as cadavers, since they probably don't have a tone players I know are after today. But back in the day they sure must have been popular, because I see a lot of them gathering dust. Some were stripped of parts, some stopped working and just got tossed in a drawer. I have been Frankensteining so much of them together, learning as I go. It's kinda sorta neat.
There were probably 101 different overdrives and distortions with silly names like Meat Box, Buzz Box, Thrash Master, Metal Maniac, or American Metal. But really, they all sound pretty tame by today's standards. A tweak here, a tweak there, and they actually sound really usable for 'old skool' rock.
The ones I have that I use stock are the FX35 Octoplus and the FX51 Juice Box. Ones I saved from the scrap heap include the FX22 Vibro Thang, FX53 Classic Tube, and FX59 Thrash Master. If you can find a schematic online, you can take the buzz out and make them sort of like an SD-1 warmth-wise. They all sound subtly different, but usable. I know you can pick them all up pretty cheap, and they are definately a pedal that slipped under the radar. Well, other then the OD250.

"W" pots are nearly impossible to find.

However... the "W" taper is just a more agressive version of the linear taper, so "B" taper pots work in place of the "W" with almost no audible difference.

This is why I am tempted to sacrifice my Thrash Master. I have so many overdrives, but I am just dying to try a Milkbox. It was given to me with no pots or jacks. I just tacked in a signal generator and got a bypassed signal! But it's tough to try it as a compressor with no pots! I could use almost anything, and glue a standoff or something to prop the board up, as the long lugs hold the board up as well. The pots I need look something like this;

With my luck I'll do it and the compressor section won't work!

Hi ranjam

From memory the Milkbox compressor use the THAT chip,
that was used in the SSL mixing desk channel strips.
And the SSL stuff is highly regarded.

But I also remember reading a bit about, the way DOD didn't implemented the THAT Chip in the Milkbox correctly,
& that it's a bit noisy in the pedal.

I have been wondering if there were mods to alleviate the noise problem?
And I have been chasing schematics for the SSL compressor strip.
(Perhaps Laurie has one buried in his archive)

I have been searching for one for few years now, to add to my ever growing collection of compressors, & compressor pedals.

I'll be really interested to hear your comments after you have it working.

Regards Dr. Bob

Yes, I have more compressor pedals than anything else. I even have a few rack mount compressors. And, almost sadly, one is an 80's DOD. It works now (knock wood), but Harmon is soooooo bad at releasing any kind of schematic. I've offered to pay out the wazoo for schematics. Nope. And parts? Fuhgettaboutit. Noooooo, I am supposed to send anything to Harmon, and they fix it real pretty like. No, I think I'll get the Milkbox going myself. I was almost tempted to buy another one sitting in a local pawn shop (to have as a reference), but that would be cheating. Although, it wouldn't be the first DOD pedal I have two of........
