| Greetings! I have my eye on a used HF-2 hiband flanger. Now I'm wondering, how similar is its circuit to the BF-2 and would it be possible to do a mod that with the flick of a switch allows you to select between HF-2 mode and BF-2 mode? |

Thanks! I'll be studying that. Interesting site as well.
On a different forum I also posed this question and somebody gave me this reply:
quote: From the schems I've seen: They seem like the exact same circuit, except the BF-2 used the MN3207 1024-stage BBD, and the HF-2 used the MN3204 512 stage BBD. If this is actually correct, a HF2 cannot be modded to be a BF-2, but a BF-2 can easily be modded into HF-2 range by lowering the value of the timing cap C30 to half.

Welcome to the Forum, jump on that HiBand Flanger You won't regret it.
To answer your question, C30(47pf,beside the MN3102)controls the delay. If you tack on another 47pf cap, it can move it into chorus range. The same mods on erik's page for the CE2 work in the same way. Just compare the flanger schems for the same locations I got a working flanger/vibrato
good luck |

Forgot to mention, you can cut out some of the bass in the delay signal by replacing C13 from .033 to .01->.022 Smaller the value, more bass is cut, .022 pushes it into the upper bass |

"Hell, the only difference between the HF-2 (Hi-Band Flanger) and the BF-2 was that Boss swapped out an MN3007 (1024 stage BBD) with an MN3009 (256 stage BBD) to shift the delay range over a bit."

The BF2 has a delay time of 0-13ms, while the HF2 has a time of 0.5-6.5ms |
