The chip to fix it cost $0.40... Not sure why that "doesn't sound worth fixing"?
There could be many other reeasons there is no sound. To find mine, I connected a test signal to the pedal and traced the signal through the pedal with a scope.
20MHz is a fine scope for audio work. I have an old Tektronics 20MHz one I bought cheap on eBay.
I bought my replacement chips at the local electronics wholesaler. I've needed a few over the years so I recently bought a tube of 100 RC4558 SMD opamps for $14.
