G'day paul25 and welcome!
If you have a known good battery in the pedal or have it on a PSA adapter (or equivalent), then with a plug in the input jack the pedal should power up - no matter what it is connected to. |

| Not sure I understand... when you say "it only powers up", do you mean that the LED only comes on when you connect to the main output, or the LED comes on whenever you connect an input jack, but the only time there is sound is when using the main output? |

| yeah the only way it works is with the main output, thats both sound and led. But the sound is pretty poor doing it that way |

| Ahhh... I think I understand what's happening. Are you using a "TRS" cable (a stereo 1/4 inch phone plug) on the cable you are plugging into the pedal input jack? If you are, it won't work at all... You need to use a mono plug. |

| yeah thats what im using, that sounds like it. so my aux sends are jacks so i should run a mono cable/plug from that? is that why it worked only from the main output? |

Not sure what cable you were using on the mains?
Anyway... run 1/4 inch mono send and return cables and it should work fine. Don't forget that it is an instrument level device - not line level, so you will have to fiddle with the send level and return gain to get it to sound OK.

Laurie hit it on the head. Aux sends are almost always balanced TRS outputs.
I think by using the TRS into the Boss, you were shorting out the switched input jack instead of isolating the "make" or something like that.
Anyway, glad it worked out for you & welcome to Bossarea paul25!
Laurie: good call on the levels. |
