A friend of mine told me that his CE-2 has a certain hum when its used with a power supply. When he tols me so I remember that my own CE-2 has this too especialy when used in conjunction with other pedals an the same daisy chain. Now I wonder if thats normal or if there is a workaround or has anybody any experiences with that subject?
As this occurs with a power supply I would suspect it has to do with the quality of the power supply. Does it happen with a Boss PSA? I haven't noticed any problems like this with my own CE-2. With several pedals chained together noise from one pedal can easily get amplified by other pedals appearing after the noisy one in the chain.
I remember this happening with my CE-2 as well, and that was with a PSA adapter/daisy chain. It wasn't a big hum, but still annoying. I was planning on finding a cure for it, but ended up selling the pedal before I got round to it (I wasn't using it very much anyway).
I dont mind about the hum. Its not so much to worry about. But it seems to me my friends ears are more sensitive Thanks for your answers. Oh, and yes, I get the hum even with the PSA!
It doesnt matter if the CE-2 is the only pedal or not. Same with the outlet. After my friend told me about his humming problem I checked my own CE-2 again and there is no hum anymore But thats maybe due to a different power supply Im using now. The only thing Ive changed since I last noticed the hum with my chorus is that I tweeked the trim pot on the pcb but I dont think this has any influence on the humming issue.
