For the first link, it's just someone who does not really knows about the lettergin-screw-and so on stuff from vintage boss. I don't think this is really a big deal.

But yep, the second is seriously brained damaged...

Well, it could be, if someone were to bid in it a hurry or carelessly thinking that they uncovered a rare older silver screw unit. It was mainly a semantic issue -- if the seller had more correctly stated "similar" rather than "exactly", I wouldn't have called them on it. Words have meaning, and in this case they have a direct bearing on the final selling price. But, yeah, you're right, I am nitpicking...

Well...

You have a point, someone could bid imagining it's a SS DS-1. But the unit is "less than one year old". So the whole description is clearly not for a SS.

You, for example, assumed directly it was obviously a new one, and not a SS one. Why would someone who knows about SS facts not come to the same conclusion ?

The guy just doesn't know he should have looked better. For him, a DS-1 is just a DS-1. If you don't know that it could be differences, you sure won't look close to actually find if there is differences between your pedal and a pic of it.
