My guitar hero is "uncle Dave".

Gilmour is always mentioned in connection with the MZ-2 but it's nowhere to be seen.
There's however an HM-3 in his 94 rig that I didn't know he used.

This site is fairly useful, we can only really guess how accurate: http://www.gilmourish.com

It says he used an HM-2 during recording of "About Face" and "Momentary Lapse of Reason"

And his touring rig in 1994 (Division Bell Era) has the MZ-2

I believe that's actually it the third pedal on the bottom row from the left on Luca's first picture link.

I know it looks kinda HM-2 or HM-3 like, but I bet ya that's an MZ-2. They also don't mention it at the bottom of the page.

Pete Cornish gear is the Dog's nuts! Very expensive though.

Dave Gilmour only used the MZ-2 for a short while - mostly while on the Delicate Sound of Thunder tour. (Listen to 'Sorrow' for a good example).

Love the sound of his new Cornish All tube board though - you can hear it on the Live 8 set - it's sounds so warm and crystal clear - awesome!

I interpreteed that the third from the left on the bottom row is the HM-3. The comments only says hyperfuzz but that's its name.

I'm fairly sure that Gilmour used a MZ-2 for 'Young Lust' from The Wall too. I was playing about with my MZ-2 the other day and got a tone virtually identical to his tone on that track.

I don't know about that, I think The Wall came out way before MZ-2s, but perhaps I am mistaken...

Ah - good point - just realised the MZ-2 wasn't made until 1987! Still, it does sound really like Gilmours tone on that track!

Gilmour is my favorite guitarist as well. I don’t think he started using Boss stuff until About Face and afterwards. I’ve seen pedal board photos with a CS-2 and several GE-7s (in combination with each overdrive or distortion). Other pedals he is rumored to have used include CE-2, DD-2, DSD-2.

David Gilmour is in Piazza Santa Croce.
I live near Florence...so I've bought 2 tickets: one for me and one for my girlfriend.
