| Could someone please define "GAS" or "GASing" used in the forum? I've seen it in reference to wanting certain gear, but I'm confused. |

GAS or G.A.S. is the abbreviation for Gear Acquisition Syndrome or the urge to buy new gear  It's more of a joke really, but it gets used a lot of different fora. |

G.A.S.
There have been many variation on the term.
Most common are:
Gear Acquisition Syndrome.
Guitar Acquisition Syndrome.
Some other I remember:
Get Another Strat.
Gibson Are Special.
Get Another Stompbox.
There was a thread a long time back with a few more.
And there is also an "Abbreviations" thread on these two pages.
Not always serious but worth read.
