You are correct - a Bassman has no loop or any reverb on-board. And the FBM-1 pedal from BOSS is accurate in that sense too. The combination of the FBM-1 and the FRV-1 sounded awesome to my ears...if you like surf guitar, as I do, you will love it!
Hell yeah!!Surf is the coolest!! Since having a Jazzmaster i love picking out Ventures stuff!! |

I have talked to Linda at Roland Scandinavia, she will send the first FRV-1 that comes to Sweden to my music store. It will be in August, price about the as the other Fender/Boss pedals. Cant hardly wait.. I have talked to a person who have heard it demonstrated, he said it sounded very good and surfy.

Actually, a reverb pedal is, to me at least, one of the most useful effects you can think of. I'll be buying this pedal to use with my Tiny Terror Orange amp (no reverb) and I'll be using it on every song. Moreover, I presume it will have a different sound character than the RV-5. |

You're so right. The Tiny Terror doesn't take distortion pedals well but it really needs a reverb. I thought the RV-5 sounded too harsh & sterile. |

ok ok, ive been told!
does the tiny terror have an effects loop? because reverb before distortion would be bad... |

No, but the Egnater Rebel-20 does. |

Well, actually, referring to another recent thread about reverb and the Fender Bassman amplifier, putting reverb before amp gain would be the way to get a vintage (blues) tone. Which is just what I need. |

A little question on the pedal: Do you guys think this is suitable for Rockabilly (Stray Cats,...)? Thanks

Not really...for pure rockabilly tones you don't even use reverb. If you choose however to use reverb it should be used sparingly. This pedal would work in that case since Setzer used a tank for years.
But for pure rockabilly, use any kind of slapback and leave the tank at home. |

| I'm mostly after the Setzer tone so I think it's good for that. Thanks for the answers! |
