$42 - a steal!
Great Job, Lauire, the circuit board looks totally hand made; i like the casing too.
Great job! |

I want one, or two. Could you be persuaded to make more Laurie?
I'm going to PM you about this. |

If you factor in my labour for engineering/design/prototyping at about $50/hour (cheap - try to find a design house to do it for that...)... then it cost about $5000 |

Thank you all! Not sure I could ever make a living at it... I'm pretty particular so they take a long time to make
That being said... I have just redesigned the output stages of the loop-mixer and it is much (much) lower noise.
Even better... with a few tweaks, it turned into one of the best clean boost pedals I've ever heard - it rivals the FA-1 for amp drive and clarity, and has a little more "glassy smoothness" because it uses a carefully designed high impedance BJT circuit with hand-selected components for the input buffer instead of a FET. FETs are excellent for high impedance circuits, but can sound a bit "dead" or even a bit "clinical" to my ear - the BJT buffer is more "alive".
Anyway, I'm rambling

I dug out my WH2 and have had it in my signal path ... and it is just not very transparent in by pass mode .... and yeah, my PH-1r (contrary to one of my earlier posts (eek)) boots a lot if I am using a "V" eq setting on the mesa boogie.. I sorely sorely need one of these ... i wish that i saw it when it was listed Laurie ....
So do I rip the above pedals and mod them??? no, a looper is def the fix.
Laurie ... i suspect your design is better than the LS-2???? being true bypass??? |

Hi starr36.
I was fortunate enough to have Laurie bang heads just a little on this one. And I believe your comment above is more than correct.
He truly did spend a great deal of time in developing & thinking this pedal out, for maximum versatility.
Don't forget he has also very cleverly included a Phase Reversal switch on his looper-mixer-booster.
Regards Dr. Bob |
