This is more or less a continuation of the OD-1 from awhile back. But rather than drag it back up I chose to start a new thread. I bought a used SD-2 Dual Overdrive off ebay last week. It arrived Wednesday and I'm still shaking it down. I've got a remote footswitch for it(although I need to shorten the cord length just a bit). The main reason for this thread is the dating of the pedal. IIRC the Boss Book stated that these pedals were discontinued in 1995. The pedal I just got has the serial number CI69004, which according to the serial decoder dates it at May 1996. I know we've talked about CE-2s in particular still being made long after a reliable source noted its discontinuation. I suppose this is another example...anyone else have something like this?
Yeah, I have an OD-1 from '88 while the book says production stopped in '85. It has to be made in Taiwan (since they already moved there by that time), but both bottomplate and label say made in Japan.
I guess it's really hard to set up and maintain a good, working labeling system from the get-go.
